Meet Ariel

Ariel Hosanny is a self taught artist, born and raised in Toronto with Trinidadian roots. She is a professional face painter, live painter/speed painter, she offers services such as bottle painting, apparel customization, murals, hosts paint nights and creates custom acrylic and watercolour commissions. She has worked with many organizations including the Toronto Blue Jays, Dior and Toronto Carnival. She is a three time winner of the Toronto Art Battle. Art became her full time pursuit 4 years ago after a lifetime of creations.

Her personal artwork explores the ideas in her imagination, processing the human experience, her recollection of vivid dreaming, her visions through meditation and hypnagogia. The subconscious mind is a space that is explored in her paintings and is the subject of her style. These pieces are up for interpretation, meant to give the viewer a sense of escape, a moment to dive behind this physical reality, ask questions about our existence and if it is what we perceive it to be. She paints intuitively: in the same way the imagery that comes to her mind.
